Rhode Island Senate expresses condolences on the passing of John Earl Gray of Woonsocket, a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War

Gray worked for the Woonsocket School Department for 15 years in maintenance and as a painter, and was ordained as a Deacon at St. James Baptist Church

Elected President of the NAACP Woonsocket Branch on December 30, 1984, and re-elected to a second term in 1986

Achieved Master Mason status and was elevated to the 32nd Degree in Mount Sinai Consistory #12 in March 1969; joined the Order of the Eastern Star in 1987

Secretary of State directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the Gray Family
