Adds probation and parole officers to the list of state law enforcement professionals eligible for enhanced retirement benefits under §§ 45-21.2-5, 45-21.2-6, 45-21.2-10, 45-21.2-11, 45-21.2-12, and 45-21.2-13.

Changes the effective date for state law enforcement retirement benefits from January 1, 2025 to January 1, 2027.

Other covered positions include deputy sheriffs, capitol police officers, environmental police officers, juvenile program workers, firefighters, fire investigators, and campus police officers.

Service credits earned prior to January 1, 2025 remain governed by laws in effect on December 31, 2024.

Effective date: January 1, 2027.
