Banks, credit unions, and ATM operators are prohibited from charging fees for balance inquiries, transactions where no money is dispensed, or declined transactions

Requirements apply to all ATMs in the state, including those operated by financial institutions and non-bank operators

Department of Business Regulation will enforce the law, with violations classified as unfair practices subject to fines and corrective orders
