Adds three animal cruelty offenses to the definition of "domestic violence" under Rhode Island's Domestic Violence Prevention Act when committed by one family or household member against another

New covered offenses include unnecessary cruelty to an animal (§ 4-1-3), malicious injury to or killing of an animal (§ 4-1-5), and abandonment of an animal (§ 4-1-26) when the animal is owned or cared for by a household member

Expands the existing list of 17 domestic violence crimes to 20 total offenses

Takes effect immediately upon passage
