Moves the candidacy declaration filing period from the last consecutive Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in June to the first consecutive Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in April in even-numbered years

Extends the deadline for filing nomination papers with the Secretary of State from 54 days to 84 days before the primary election date

Changes the filing deadline for independent presidential candidates and presidential candidates of minor political parties from 60 days to 90 days prior to the general election

Moves primary elections from the eighth Tuesday preceding biennial state elections to the second Tuesday after the first Monday in September in even-numbered years

Takes effect January 1, 2027
