AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association) was established in 1922 in Atlanta to combat discrimination against Greek immigrants and promote civil rights, education, and civic integration

Chapter 106 hosted the 16th Supreme Convention of AHEPA in 1939 and dedicated the Samuel Gridley Howe Memorial Flagpole at Brown University, which still stands today

The chapter maintains scholarship programs, supports the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation of Cranston, participates in the Cranston Greek Festival, and advocates for U.S.-Greece relations and justice in Cyprus

Secretary of State directed to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Chapter President George Coclin
