Senate resolution expressing condolences on the passing of James M. Donelan, Esq., a Warwick attorney and former Rhode Island State Senator

Donelan served in the Rhode Island State Senate representing the 15th District (north end of Warwick) for fourteen years, from 1990 to December 31, 2002

As a State Senator, he served on the Judiciary and Labor Committees and authored Rhode Island's Good Driving Statute, which allows drivers with a clean three-year record to have minor moving violations dismissed

Donelan was a graduate of Pilgrim High School, University of Rhode Island, and New England School of Law, and operated his own law practice in Warwick

The Secretary of State is directed to transmit certified copies of the resolution to Donelan's family, including his wife Akane Shirai, sister Carol Paquette, and stepson Kent Shirai
