SC H3009

Authorizes the South Carolina Department of Social Services' Division of Child Support Enforcement to enforce alimony obligations when referred by family court, using the same administrative tools currently available for child support enforcement

Extends existing enforcement mechanisms to alimony cases, including license revocation (professional, driver's, hunting/fishing licenses), income withholding from wages and unemployment benefits, financial institution account levies, and property liens

Requires alimony orders to include social security numbers or alien identification numbers for both the obligor and obligee to facilitate enforcement

Allows the Department of Social Services to access vital records (birth, death, marriage, divorce certificates) without charge for alimony enforcement purposes, in addition to existing child support purposes

Takes effect upon Governor's approval and may be applied retroactively to recover alimony obligations accruing within ten years of the effective date
