Creates enhanced penalty of up to 5 additional years imprisonment for assault and battery convictions when the victim is an educational professional or law enforcement officer acting in their official duties

Enhanced sentence may run consecutively or concurrently with the sentence for the underlying assault and battery offense

Enhanced penalty cannot be suspended and probation cannot be granted for this additional punishment

Indictment must include a separate count alleging the offense was committed against an educational professional or law enforcement officer acting in official capacity; conviction on this count is required for enhanced penalty

"Educational professional" defined as licensed teachers, principals, administrators, or other educational providers working on school grounds
