Adds the offense of discharging or causing to be discharged firearms at or into a dwelling house, building, structure, or enclosure regularly occupied by persons (Section 16-23-440(A)) to South Carolina's list of violent crimes under Section 16-1-60

Classification as a violent crime affects sentencing, parole eligibility, and other legal consequences for offenders convicted of shooting into occupied structures

Does not affect pending actions, rights, or prosecutions existing before the act's effective date

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor
