Teacher contracts must specify salary covers only instruction, planning, faculty meetings, and professional development — not extracurricular duties

Teachers cannot be required to perform extracurricular duties (bus duty, recess duty, lunch duty, coaching, ticket-taking, club sponsorship) as a condition of employment

Any extracurricular duties must be voluntarily agreed upon by teachers, with specific time commitments and additional compensation stated in the contract

School districts must develop plans before the 2026-2027 school year to cover extracurricular duties through volunteers, additional non-professional staff, or compensated teachers

Provisions apply to teacher contracts beginning with the 2026-2027 school year
