Requires all public school districts and charter schools in South Carolina to acquire and implement mobile panic alert systems in every school by July 1, 2026

Mobile panic alert systems must connect emergency services technologies for real-time coordination between local and state law enforcement and first responders, and integrate with existing 911 public safety answering-point infrastructure

Mandates annual training for all public school resource officers and school personnel on proper use of the panic button alert system

Department of Education, in consultation with SLED and Department of Public Safety, must identify qualified vendors and provide a list to schools by January 1, 2026

Schools that already have mobile panic alert systems meeting the requirements are exempt from procuring new or additional systems
