Amends Section 24-13-40 regarding computation of time served by prisoners in South Carolina

Removes two existing restrictions that prevented defendants from receiving credit for time served prior to trial: when a prisoner commits a subsequent crime while out on bond, and when a prisoner has bond revoked on any charge prior to trial or plea

Maintains existing restrictions denying credit for time served when the prisoner was an escapee from another penal institution or when already serving a sentence while awaiting trial for a second offense

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor
