Prohibits children adjudicated for status offenses (non-criminal violations like truancy or incorrigibility) from being committed to juvenile detention facilities, Department of Juvenile Justice custody, or secure evaluation centers

Reduces maximum detention time for juveniles violating valid court orders from 72 hours to 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) in juvenile detention facilities

Requires parents/custodians and children to first attempt family counseling, pastoral counseling, parenting classes, or therapy services before a referral for incorrigibility can be accepted or a petition filed

Establishes automatic expungement of all juvenile records related to status offenses once the person reaches age 18 and completes any dispositional sentences, provided they have no subsequent criminal adjudications or convictions

Removes the exception that previously allowed juveniles waived to adult court to be held in secure confinement in adult jails beyond the standard 6-hour limit
