Requires owners of boats anchored in South Carolina waters for more than 14 days to maintain marine recovery insurance

Boat owners must provide insurers with a vessel survey completed within 6 months by a licensed surveyor, declaring the boat seaworthy and able to move under its own power (working sails for sailboats, working motor for powerboats)

Insurers must issue two 3½ x 3½ inch watercraft stickers displaying the year, insurance company, policy number, and boat registration number to be displayed on the vessel

A new survey is required every three years before policy renewal

Violations constitute a misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days imprisonment and a fine of up to $500
