Amends Section 23-31-240 to add full-time active public defender investigators and assistant public defender investigators to the list of persons who may carry a concealable weapon anywhere in the state with a valid permit

Current law already allows judges, solicitors, attorneys general, public defenders, and other specified legal officials to carry concealed weapons statewide

Public defender investigators and assistant public defender investigators would be prohibited from carrying concealed weapons into local or state correctional facilities, matching the existing restriction on public defenders

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor
