Allows unemancipated minors to sue for damages when they lose the companionship, aid, society, and services of a parent due to intentional or tortious acts

Allows parents or legal guardians to sue for damages when they lose the companionship, aid, society, and services of their unemancipated minor child due to intentional or tortious acts

Prevents double recovery by excluding any damages already recovered by the injured party (parent or child) from the consortium claim

Adds new Section 15-75-30 to Chapter 75, Title 15 of the South Carolina Code

Takes effect upon Governor's approval
