Allows cremation of unidentified or unclaimed human remains 30 days from the date of death or discovery, removing the previous prohibition on cremating unidentified remains for at least 30 days.

Requires coroners to have unclaimed or unidentified remains buried or interred in a cemetery within the county where the remains were found.

Authorizes coroners to release a deceased person's remains to another family member when the next of kin is charged in connection with the death or is uncooperative in claiming the remains.

Maintains existing requirement that identified remains of unclaimed veterans must be released to a funeral home for disposition under veteran burial provisions.
