Honors his eighty-two years of ministry in the United Methodist Church, serving congregations across South Carolina and North Georgia, including roles as pastor, district superintendent in Charleston, and vice president of development at Epworth Children's Home

Recognizes his service on the Wofford College Board of Trustees, numerous South Carolina Conference UMC boards, and as a delegate to the General Conference of the UMC, having preached in over seven hundred local UMC churches

Acknowledges his family legacy, including his seventy-year marriage to Jean Casey Brittain, two children, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren
