Allows immediate Gold Star Family members (as classified by the U.S. Department of Defense) who are South Carolina residents to enter any state park without charge

Adds Gold Star Family members to existing groups already eligible for free or reduced state park admission, including residents over 65, disabled or legally blind individuals, and permanently and totally disabled veterans

Current law already provides free admission (except campsites, overnight lodging, and recreation buildings) for residents over 65, disabled, or legally blind, plus half-price campsites for these groups

Permanently and totally disabled veterans already receive free park entry upon presenting identification from the county veterans affairs officer

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor
