Requests the South Carolina Department of Transportation name the I-26/US-76 bridge crossing I-20 in Richland County the "Solomon-Gibbons Memorial Bridge"

Honors Dr. Walker E. Solomon Sr. and Dr. Carlos W. Gibbons, who led the merger of the Palmetto Education Association and The South Carolina Education Association on April 1, 1968

The 1968 merger created the first integrated teachers organization in the nation, combining nearly 25,000 educators and becoming the largest joining of two professional organizations in state history at that time

Requires appropriate markers or signs to be erected at the bridge containing the memorial name

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the South Carolina Education Association and the Department of Transportation
