K-9 Kodak, a 6-year-old Dutch shepherd, died from injuries sustained on October 5, 2024, when he became entangled in concealed razor-wire fencing while tracking a suspect near Leesburg Road in Lower Richland

K-9 Specialists Samantha Ramirez and O'Shaughnessy also sustained lacerations while attempting to free K-9 Kodak from the wire

K-9 Kodak served four years as a partner to K-9 Specialist Ramirez and was recognized as the most successful K-9 in captures and apprehensions

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to K-9 Specialist Samantha Ramirez, K-9 Kodak's handler
