Congratulates Samuel Paukovitz (Fort Mill High School), Jason Marshal (Bank Trails Middle School), Tanay Sanghani (Sterling School Charles Townes Center), and Diya Balamurugan (Pleasant Knoll Elementary School) for winning the 2025 South Carolina Scholastic Chess Championship in their respective categories

The championship was held at the Columbia Convention Center beginning March 22, 2025, with 189 players competing; finals took place April 5, 2025, and the girls' championship with 22 competitors was held April 12, 2025

Wishes the winners good luck as they represent South Carolina at the United States Chess Federation national competition in Middleton, Wisconsin, July 28-31, 2025

Thanks the Columbia Chess Club for sponsoring the event and recognizes their contributions to promoting chess in South Carolina, including hosting the largest open chess tournament in state history and establishing a brick-and-mortar location in Columbia
