Honors Donnie L. Hardin, General Manager of the Cherokee County Board of Public Works, upon his retirement on May 2, 2025, after nearly 43 years of service

Hardin was hired in 1982, became office manager in 1987, and was named general manager in 1995

Recognizes his community involvement including 35 years as commissioner for the Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department, chair of the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency Board, and his election to Cherokee County Council in November 2024

Notes his 2022 induction into the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and the naming of the East Frederick Street facility as the Donnie L. Hardin Operations Center in his honor
