Recognizes and congratulates St. Phillip African Methodist Episcopal Church of Eastover, South Carolina on its 192nd anniversary in 2025

Founded around 1835, the church began as a group of Christians worshipping under a bush arbor in a place called Acton, with Reverend Anderson Burns serving as the first pastor

The current sanctuary was dedicated on December 13, 1981, after the 1952 building was destroyed by fire

The church, currently led by Reverend Larry D. Clark, will celebrate with a brunch on June 21, 2025 and homecoming worship service on June 22, 2025

Acknowledges St. Phillip AME as one of the oldest established African American churches in Lower Richland County, serving as a multigenerational community worship center for nearly 200 years
