Prohibits the Department of Social Services and child-placing agencies from requiring foster parents to disclose specific types of firearms in their home or report changes in firearm types

Restricts use of any firearm type information that agencies obtain to only determining whether firearms are present in the home, not for any other purpose

Establishes civil penalties up to $5,000 per violation for child-placing agencies that misuse firearm type information, enforceable by the Attorney General

Makes information about types of firearms in foster homes confidential and exempt from Freedom of Information Act disclosure

Takes effect upon Governor's approval
