Maintains reckless driving as a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $25-$200 or up to 30 days imprisonment for first offense

Requires completion of a defensive driving course within 60 days of conviction for second or subsequent offenses, with proof submitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles

Suspends driving privileges for three months if proof of defensive driving course completion is not received within 60 days, or until proof is provided (whichever comes first)

Reduces the lookback period for prior offenses from five years to three years when determining repeat violations

Eliminates the requirement to show proof of financial responsibility before license reinstatement following suspension under this section
