Requires supermarkets with over 10,000 square feet of retail food space to make excess edible food available to qualifying nonprofit organizations such as food pantries, food banks, and soup kitchens

Defines "excess food" as edible food not sold due to labeling, appearance, or surplus issues, but excludes unpackaged meat/fish/poultry, contaminated food, hot/cold bar items, recalled food, and food already donated or sold to other buyers

Supermarkets are not required to transport food or provide specific quantities; compliance is met by arranging in good faith with a nonprofit that requests in writing to collect excess food

Provides liability protection for supermarkets acting in compliance, absent gross negligence or intentional misconduct

Allows supermarkets to set reasonable collection time and manner restrictions and to dispose of excess food not picked up within a reasonable time
