Recognizes Colt Shope, a nurse manager at Prisma Health Baptist Easley Hospital, for creating a new tradition to honor American veterans receiving end-of-life care

Since February 2025, Baptist Easley staff have draped American flags over the beds of ten veterans in end-of-life care as a tribute to their service

The tradition began after a Vietnam War veteran's wife expressed that her husband never received proper recognition when returning from war, and the flag-draping ceremony brought tears to many present

Baptist Easley is the first Prisma Health hospital to implement this practice, with Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital planning to adopt it later in the year

Directs that a copy of this South Carolina House Resolution be presented to Colt Shope
