South Carolina House Resolution expressing sorrow upon the death of former Representative Jacob Hill Jennings of Bishopville, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at age ninety-five.

Jennings graduated from Wofford College (1950) and University of South Carolina School of Law (1953, cum laude), served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel after twenty-six years.

Practiced law in Bishopville for sixty-five years, served as town attorney for over fifty years, and held leadership positions including president of the South Carolina Bar and fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Served one term in the South Carolina House of Representatives and was active in civic organizations including the Lee County Hospital Board, National Bank of South Carolina Board of Directors, and Boy Scouts of America.

Resolution extends sympathy to his wife of sixty-seven years, Jane Marie Hancock Jennings, his two children, three grandchildren, and directs that a copy be presented to the family.
