South Carolina House of Representatives resolution expressing sorrow upon the death of Judge Ittriss Jermain Jenkins, a Charleston County magistrate judge who passed away on January 2, 2026, at age 53.

Judge Jenkins was born November 16, 1972, in the Bronx, New York, moved to Charleston at age five, and earned degrees from North Carolina A&T State University, Clark Atlanta University, and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.

Appointed to the magistrate bench in 2015 by then-Senator Marlon Kimpson, Jenkins served with distinction and was respected throughout the legal community after passing the South Carolina Bar in 2007.

Jenkins was the first Black chair of the Board of Governors at the Harbour Club and served on numerous boards including One80 Place, the Preservation Society of Charleston, and the Children's Museum.

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to his surviving family, including his wife Loquita Bryant-Jenkins, daughters Na'Zyia and Nyla, parents Richard and Daisy Jenkins, and multiple siblings.
