Allen Moore Hawkes Jr. of Aiken County passed away on November 7, 2025, at age seventy-eight, after a life of military service and community involvement.

Served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning two Bronze Stars for Heroism, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, and numerous additional medals for valor in combat.

Continued military service as a Drill Sergeant at Fort Jackson, training the next generation of American soldiers before transitioning to civilian careers as a computer programmer and bank manager.

Devoted member and deacon of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Aiken, previously served at Troutville Baptist Church in Virginia where he mentored youth through the Royal Ambassadors program.

Married to Jackie Bridgmon Hawkes for fifty-five years; the resolution directs that a copy be presented to his family in recognition of his heroic service and devotion to faith, family, and community.
