South Carolina House Resolution congratulating Staff Sergeant Joseph R. Adams on receiving the Master Sergeant Leland Diamond Award, the highest honor for recent graduates of the U.S. Marine Corps Drill Instructor School

Staff Sergeant Adams enlisted in the Marine Corps on September 4, 2017, trained at Parris Island, served in security forces at Kings Bay Naval Base guarding nuclear submarines, and completed two Pacific deployments with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines at Camp Pendleton

Graduated from the eleven-week Marine Corps Drill Instructor School on June 18, 2025, and was assigned to 1st Training Battalion, Charlie Company, Platoon 1086 at Parris Island

The Master Sergeant Leland Diamond Award recognizes the new drill instructor who demonstrates superior effort, maturity, skills, humility, eagerness to learn, endurance, and enthusiasm above peers from the same graduating class

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to Staff Sergeant Joseph R. Adams
