South Carolina House Resolution recognizing Leonardo DRS for opening a new 140,000 square-foot naval power systems facility in Charleston with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 23, 2026

The facility will expand domestic production capacity for U.S. Navy submarine and shipbuilding programs, including the Columbia-class ballistic missile submarine program

The Charleston facility provides advanced manufacturing, final assembly, system integration, and testing capabilities for large-scale naval electric power and propulsion system components

Leonardo DRS designs power and propulsion solutions supporting advanced sensors, directed-energy systems, high-performance computing, and propulsion across surface ships, submarines, and ground platforms

The resolution directs that a copy be presented to Leonardo DRS in recognition of its investment in South Carolina, contributions to national defense, and support of Navy programs
