Army Master Sergeant (Ret.) Alfonso J. Boyd served over 22 years in the United States Army and has been named South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs Veteran of the Year for the 2025-2026 nomination cycle

After military retirement, Boyd established and expanded JROTC programs at three Chester County high schools: Great Falls, Lewisville, and Chester

Boyd has served as commander of Disabled American Veterans (DAV) James D. Wessinger Chapter 19 for more than a decade, organizing events including the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Tournament, Quilt of Valor Ceremonies, and veterans' observances

Under his leadership, Chester County veterans have received over $1 million in earned benefits

This House Resolution formally recognizes Boyd's military service and community leadership and directs that a copy be presented to him
