South Carolina House Resolution expressing sorrow upon the passing of Tammy J. McCottry, a Charleston media personality and community advocate, who died on February 3, 2026, at age 65

McCottry, a Howard University graduate known as "The Media Mogul," founded McCottry Productions Inc. in 1998 and Tammy Media Group, producing programs including "The Single Parent Corner" (aired on UPN and NBC) and the award-winning interview show "Tammy"

She founded The Parents Corner USA, a nonprofit serving economically disadvantaged parents and at-risk youth, and established the National Women and Girls Summit focused on healthy lifestyles for young girls

McCottry was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and received numerous honors, including former Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. declaring November 19 as "Tammy McCottry Day" in 2022

The resolution directs that a copy be presented to her family, including her surviving daughter, Catherine
