Expands South Carolina's definition of "hospital" to include Rural Emergency Hospitals (REHs) that convert under 42 C.F.R. Part 485 Subpart E and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021

Rural Emergency Hospitals are a federal Medicare provider type established effective January 1, 2023, designed to address rural hospital closures and improve healthcare access in rural communities

Amends Section 44-7-130(17) of the South Carolina Code relating to healthcare facility definitions

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor
