Jasper County Council is authorized to provide local funds on a per-pupil basis to qualifying charter schools in the county, including revenues from Fee-in-Lieu of Taxes (FILOT) agreements

Charter schools must meet five eligibility criteria: provide in-person instruction at a physical location in the county, have at least 60% economically disadvantaged students, have main campus within 35 miles of a federal military installation, operate continuously in the county for at least 5 years, and maintain good financial standing with their authorizer

The county council may designate any county revenue source for allocation to eligible charter schools, including FILOT distributions under Sections 12-44-50 or 12-44-80

Funding is discretionary and the council is not required to provide these allocations
