Catawba Ridge High School softball team won the South Carolina Class AAAAA Division II State Championship on May 29, 2025, defeating St. James Sharks 9-1 in the championship game

The Copperheads finished with a 31-2 overall record and earned the number one state ranking plus a number twenty national ranking by Sports Illustrated

This marks the team's third consecutive state championship, with a combined 76-7 record over three seasons under Head Coach Michael Mayak

The program produced eighteen All-Region selections, eight All-State honorees, two South Carolina Players of the Year, and nine players who have advanced or will advance to Division I or Division II collegiate softball

The resolution directs that copies be presented to Principal Barry Ledford and Head Coach Michael Mayak to formally recognize the team's achievements
