South Carolina House of Representatives resolution expressing sorrow upon the death of Reverend Dr. Mary Lou Myers-Montgomery, Esquire, of Richland County, who passed away on February 9, 2026, at age 73

Rev. Dr. Myers-Montgomery held extensive academic credentials including a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Laws in International Law from Georgetown University, and a Master of Divinity from Howard University (graduated with 4.0 GPA)

Professional career included serving as an assistant United States attorney under Attorney General Edwin Meese during the Reagan Administration, federal judicial clerk for Judge Matthew J. Perry, communications law professor at Howard University, and reporter for three newspapers

Ordained into Gospel ministry on June 8, 1986, served as pastor of Burroughs Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia, and led international humanitarian missions providing food for children in South Africa

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to her surviving family, including siblings Thomas J. Myers and Andrea L. Myers-Davis
