South Carolina House Resolution honoring the Calhoun County High School "Thunder & Lightning" Marching Band for their historic win at the 2025 Allstate Sugar Bowl Band Competition

The 42-member band achieved a total sweep in Class A by placing first in both Parade and Field Show competitions and winning every caption award in their class, including Outstanding Music, General Effect, Percussion, Auxiliary, Drum Major, and Marching

The band was hand-selected to perform in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Parade on December 31, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana

Band members come from three schools: Calhoun County High School, St. Matthews K8 School, and Sandy Run K8 School, under the direction of Band Director Travis Lawton

A copy of the resolution is to be presented to Principal Milton Howard and Band Director Travis Lawton
