South Carolina House Resolution honoring Dr. Dinesh Shukla, Chancellor and Founding President of American International University West Africa (AIUWA), for transforming African education through visionary leadership

Dr. Shukla, born in Africa to Indian heritage and now a U.S. citizen, founded AIUWA in The Gambia in 2007 through Presidential Decree, growing from 6 students in 2010 to over 2,000 students offering American-standard medical and professional education

Previously revitalized Northside General Hospital in Houston, Texas, turning a bankrupt 100-bed facility into a financially stable institution serving underserved communities, and chaired the American Hospital and International Medical Center in Guinea

Expanded educational vision in 2023 by establishing a second university in Sierra Leone with 5,000 students, with a goal of five universities across Africa educating 100,000 students by 2028

Resolution directs that a copy be presented to Dr. Dinesh Shukla in recognition of his contributions to education and healthcare across Africa
