Driver's licenses and identification cards issued to non-U.S. citizens in South Carolina must conspicuously display "Limited Term" on the card.

Identification documents from the Department of Motor Vehicles containing "Limited Term" are not acceptable forms of voter identification at polling places.

License and ID card holders must notify the DMV within ten days of permanently moving, legally changing their name, or becoming a U.S. citizen.

The DMV will provide one free replacement license or ID card per issuance cycle when changes are made; subsequent replacements require payment of standard fees.

Sections 1 and 2 take effect upon the Governor's approval, while Section 3 (notification requirements) takes effect one year after approval.
