Requires the South Carolina Department of Social Services to verify an applicant's citizenship status and benefit eligibility before approving any public assistance application

Mandates verification in accordance with Chapter 29, Title 8 of the S.C. Code (existing state verification procedures)

Prohibits approval of public assistance applications unless the applicant is confirmed to be a United States citizen and eligible for the requested benefits, except where federal law requires otherwise

Amends Section 43-5-15 of the S.C. Code governing applications for public aid and assistance

Takes effect immediately upon the Governor's approval
