South Carolina House of Representatives resolution expressing sorrow upon the death of Christopher William "Chris" Allen of Richland County, who passed away on November 5, 2025, at age 37

Allen was a teacher and football coach at Dreher High School in Columbia, where he was known for his compassion and mentorship of students

He earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from Benedict College in 2016 and was pursuing a master's degree at Grand Canyon University at the time of his death

Allen was an active member of Prince Hall Masonry and a 2024 initiate of the Omicron Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

He is survived by his wife Shannon J. Allen, two sons (Christopher William II and Jackson Alexander), two daughters (Lauren Simone and Channing Olivia), and his parents Clarence and Deborah Allen
