South Carolina House Resolution honors William C. Singleton of Pickens County for his service to Pickens Savings and Loan Association and celebrates his 100th birthday on April 2, 2026

Singleton joined the bank's board on May 20, 1963, served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2010 until his retirement in 2021 at age 95, and continues serving as director emeritus on the loan committee

Under his leadership, the bank grew from less than $4 million in assets to $135 million in assets and converted from mutual ownership to stock ownership

Singleton helped transform the institution from offering only savings accounts and home loans into a full community bank while navigating economic cycles, technological changes, and regulatory requirements

The resolution directs that a copy be presented to William C. Singleton in recognition of his contributions to homeownership and community development in Pickens County
