South Carolina House Resolution recognizing and honoring Hines Funeral Home Inc. of Hartsville for over a century of combined professional experience serving the community's funeral needs

Founded in 1946 by brothers Gilbert and William Hines as Hines Brothers Mortuary, the business became Hines Funeral Home under sole proprietorship in 1965 and has remained family-operated through multiple generations

The funeral home expanded over the decades, including a 1977 facility in Lamar, the Gilbert Hines Memorial Chapel in 1986, the Barbra J. Hines Memorial Chapel in 1991, and the 1995 purchase of Darlington Memory Gardens, an eighteen-acre perpetual care cemetery

In February 1996, Hines Funeral Home became one of the first funeral homes in South Carolina to offer pre-need burial products, and in 2000 joined The International Order of the Golden Rule
