Ann Looper Pryor of Charleston passed away on March 6, 2026, at age sixty-four after a brief battle with non-small cell lung cancer

Graduated from the College of Charleston in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in political science and worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Strom Thurmond before careers in lobbying, public relations, and as publisher of Landscape Architecture Magazine

Returned to Charleston in 2015 to serve as vice president for alumni affairs at the College of Charleston

Endowed the W.N. Looper Award internship program in 2012 to provide financial resources for South Carolina students majoring in political science or communications to intern on Capitol Hill, created in memory of her father

Survived by her husband Greg and sister Mary; the South Carolina House of Representatives expresses sympathy to her family and friends through this resolution
