South Carolina House Resolution recognizes the Greenwood Railroad Historical Center for their groundbreaking ceremony on April 2, 2026, for a new replica Southern Passenger Depot

DP3 Architects designed the replica depot to feature authentic Southern Passenger Depot styling with signature green and yellow paint, having previously restored three Southern Passenger Depots in South Carolina

The depot will replicate Seaboard Passenger Depots from the early 1900s and serve as both a museum and event space on Main Street in Greenwood

The facility aims to educate visitors on the railroad's role in regional economic growth and cultural development through exhibits and interpretations

The project is expected to increase annual visitors to Greenwood, benefiting local businesses and the county's economic prosperity
