South Carolina House of Representatives expresses sympathy upon the death of Dr. Anthony "Tony" E. Harris of Aiken County, who passed away on May 29, 2025, at age 81

Dr. Harris was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 1, 1943, raised in Rochester, Minnesota, and graduated from Denison University (1965) and Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University (1969)

Served as a physician in the United States Air Force, completed ENT residency, and taught at the Medical College of Virginia and Johns Hopkins before entering private practice in South Carolina, settling in Aiken in 1990

Active community member belonging to Aiken Rotary, Palmetto Golf Club, and All Saints Anglican Church, where he sang in the choir and was a member of the Order of the Knights Templar

Survived by his wife Sandra "Sandy" Mayhew Harris, two daughters (Elizabeth Harris Schunter and Michelle Harris Dennis), and three grandchildren; a copy of the resolution will be presented to his family
